Microbiology-Immunology (PhD)
This program trains highly qualified specialists in microbiology, infectious and autoimmune diseases, inflammation, and immunology.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must have a master’s degree in mircrobiology-immunology, or an equivalent degree.
Applicants must have a grade point average of at least 2.67 out of 4.33, or the equivalent as recognized by Université Laval.
Students whose mother tongue is neither French nor English may be required to provide proof of English proficiency before being admitted.
French proficiency
The language of instruction at Université Laval is French. Hence, a good knowledge of written and spoken French is highly recommended. Students’ capacity to read and understand French is linked to their success in the program. Students who are not proficient enough in French may have difficulty in their studies.
English proficiency
Although knowledge of English is not a prerequisite for admission, students must be able to read and understand texts in English to successfully complete this program. Students must ensure that they have a good understanding of English and, if necessary, take steps to improve their language skills during their studies
A placement test score or minimum course grade can be used as proof of the required level of comprehension,
- A Versant English Placement Test (VEPT) score of at least 58 out 70
- or a Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) score of at least 750 out of 990
- or a minimum grade of C in the ANL-3010 Advanced English I course (or other course at an equal or higher level)
If these requirements are not met, the student will be strongly advised to take one or more language courses to achieve the recommended level of proficiency as rapidly as possible early in their program. Students must obtain a grade of C or higher in these language courses.
Language courses do not count toward program credits (test schedule - in French only)
