A devoted professor among the victims of the terrorist attack
Québec City, January 30, 2017 – On behalf of the university community, the Rector of Université Laval, Denis Brière, would like to express his profound sadness at the death of Khaled Belkacemi, professor at the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences (FSAA).
«Our community is in mourning today. We grieve for an esteemed member of the Faculty and university and a devoted man who was admired by his colleagues and students.»
On behalf of the university community, the Rector of Université Laval offers his sincere condolences to Khaled Belkacemi's wife, who is also a professor at Université Laval, and to his family, friends, and colleagues in the face of this terrible tragedy. «I am deeply saddened by this horrible news. My thoughts are with the Professor Belkacemi's wife and family. Our colleague will be greatly missed.»
«I would like to pay tribute my colleague Khaled Belkacemi for his kindness and professionalism. He was a cultured and passionate man and very involved within the Faculty. His remarkable contributions will endure despite his sudden passing, which deeply saddens us all», said Jean-Claude Dufour, Dean of the FSAA.
Professor Belkacemi was a member of the Centre in Green Chemistry and Catalysis and the Institute of Nutrition and Functional Foods.
